Senate honors late Sen. Mike Carrell OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Lawmakers remembered the late Sen. Mike Carrell, passing a resolution in his honor on the Senate floor. Monday's resolution was the second remembrance in the Senate in recent weeks for Carrell, who died last month at age 69 from complications related to his treatment for a blood condition. Carrell suffered from myelodysplastic syndrome, also known as pre-leukemia.
