Next week, Christie's will auction off the computer owned by a man who has for years kept it in a box at his home near Sacramento. Another Apple 1 was sold last month for a record $671,400 by a German auction house, breaking a previous record of $640,000 set in November.

U.S. District Judge David Lawson denied convicted investment adviser John Bravata's request to block the liquidation of his assets, which the government plans to auction off following Bravata's conviction on charges he duped hundreds of investors out of more than $50 million. The auction's proceeds will go to Bravata's victims.
