  1. Mansfield seeks ‘speedy trial’ during court hearing

    MICHIGAN CITY — Christian Blake Mansfield, 19, 907 Tall Timbers Drive, made his initial court appearance via video in La Porte Superior Court 1 before Judge Kathleen B. Lang Tuesday morning. Mansfield is facing one count of murder in the death of Henry Whitten. Whitten was found dead in his Elston Grove home June 6 after Michigan City police were called there on a “welfare check.”
