Man in 60s first West Nile victim in Gem County The first West Nile virus case in Gem County has been reported. He is a male in his 60s and hospitalized with West Nile encephalitis. His estimated onset date is Sept. 13, according to Southwest District Health. Symptoms for West Nile fever include fever, headaches, body aches, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and sometimes swollen lymph glands or a skin rash.
