Q I was born and raised in an Islamic country. My future husband and I contracted our marriage in accordance with Shariah law. During the second year of our marriage, I gave birth to our one child, a son. Shortly thereafter, my husband came to the United States on a student visa. After he obtained U.S. citizenship, my son and I were able to join my husband in Massachusetts.
