Vermont town to reenact Coolidge presidential oath The Vermont town where former President Calvin Coolidge was born is planning to commemorate the 90th anniversary of his being sworn in to the presidency by his father on the death of President Harding. It was on Aug. 3, 1923, that a messenger arrived at the Coolidge homestead in Plymouth Notch to tell the vice president that Harding had died and that he had become president.
