Today in history: Oct. 11, 2013 In 1913: The Balaklala Copper Co. placed an order for a new gas holder to be used in making further tests with the Hall desulphurizing process at the company's smelter at Coram. The new tank would be erected on the flat below the house in which the McDougall ovens were constructed and would have a capacity of 30,000 cubic feet.
