Regrowing a piece of Meadowlands Andrew Derickson stood recently on a windswept dirt road in the middle of the Meadowlands. Before him lay large tracts of mudflats, some glisteningly bare, others dotted with clumps of distressingly brown spartina grass. Beyond was an earthen berm, with raw, gaping holes in four places.
