Mike Romano's rediscovery of 'Peter Pan' - a Florey's book event In 1902, Scottish dramatist and novelist James Matthew Barrie introduced the character Peter Pan in his novel, "The Little White Bird." He followed this in 1904, with the hugely successful stage play, "Peter Pan, Or, The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up." In 1911, Barrie's book, "Peter and Wendy," based on the play, was published to critical and public acclaim.
