Lafayette couple celebrates 70th anniversary A Lafayette couple is celebrating its 70th wedding anniversary. Aaron and Verna Castille were married on June 8, 1943. Mr. Castille was a horse jockey and businessman before retiring. Mrs. Castile worked at the Downtown Lafayette location of Abdalla's for 65 years. Both are still active at home and in the community. Their marriage has produced one daughter and two grandchildren.
