- Norfolk zoo to celebrate siamang's 1st birthday
NORFOLK The Virginia Zoo is celebrating the first birthday of Lola the siamang. The zoo in Norfolk will hold a celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Lola actually turned 1 on Aug. 20. Siamangs are a large species of gibbon native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia. They have black shaggy hair and a naked face. They grow up to 35 inches in length and 28 pounds.
