Former MEBA President Jesse M. Calhoon Dies Jesse M. Calhoon, the longest-serving president of the Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association, died this week at the age of 90 in Naples, Fla. Calhoon was MEBA’s top executive and chairman of the board of trustees for more than 20 years. He was the maritime labor union’s longest-serving president.

Research: Lake Mich. ice shouldn't block turbines MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) - A researcher says that ice during winter months on Lake Michigan shouldn't block potential wind turbine farms. The Muskegon Chronicle reports ( http://bit.ly/19Yo2wG ) the initial conclusion is from University of Michigan marine engineer Dale G. Karr, based upon his work for the U.S. Department of Energy studying Great Lakes ice and its impact on wind turbine towers.
