June 20, 2013 - Imperial Beach Eagle & Times - Whale trapped in lagoon near Purdy Bridge
A whale was trapped Wednesday morning in a lagoon near the Purdy Bridge. Nearly 100 people gathered around the Burley Lagoon at Purdy to watch a whale that was grounded in shallow water at low tide. Shortly after 10 a.m., the rising tide helped the whale free itself.
