Sightings This ferocious-looking fellow was found on a window in Moreau. He is a Dobson fly, the adult stage of the hellgrammite, an aggressive aquatic predator. This fellow, however, is quite docile. The formidable-looking mandibles are quite weak, used only for grasping the female during mating and perhaps for display during courtship.
