In 1913: A cyclometer, an aneroid barometer and a pedometer were all used on the recent five-day automobile tour over a kite-shaped course into the eastern part of Shasta County and back to Redding. The distance was 55.9 miles, the highest elevation was 4,200 feet and the running time was five hours and 15 minutes.
